People trying to log onto the websites and apps were finding error messages and were unable to refresh their feeds as normal.
More than 300,000 reports of outages on Facebook, while there were more than 40,000 reports on Instagram.
Problems on Facebook appear to leave users unable to log in, with users logged out and unable to reset their passwords or access their accounts. On Instagram, there are problems loading users’ timelines, stories and comments.
